Post by: Webmaster Zie on September 30, 2008, 01:53:39 am
Hey Girls and Guys Next Door!

Now that you've logged on to gndcorp.smfforfree3.com, check out these important TIPS that you should take to heart. We, at gndcorp.smfforfree3.com, want you to be always safe and protected whenever you're online.

The internet opens you to a whole new world of possibilities! You can get anything from the web for FREE! All the information you can handle is up for grabs! Plus, you get to interact with so many people that share the same interests as yours. But meeting them could also lead to trouble if you don't know the proper netiquette.

Thus, here are guidelines that will keep you protected online:

G: Keep everything brief and short whether it's writing emails, posting on boards or talking in instant messengers and chatrooms. Also, please don't send out so many messages to one person. This might ignite a flame war.

N: Refrain from using foul, insulting and offensive language. Think of the other people online as if you're talking to them personally. Let us respect each other's opinions. You wouldn't want to be treated that harshly right?

D: Your thoughts posted on the internet can be read by everyone. Nothing you write is private! But at the same time, respect the privacy of people online. If they ask you to keep a secret, stick to it!

C: Don't mock other people online. There are people who might not get what you mean. You might be joking with them but they might see it as sarcasm. Try using emoticons or popularly known as smileys if you want to be funny or if you want to downplay a harsh opinion.

O: Avoid SPAM mail! They're very irritating and useless emails. Delete unknown emails because they might contain viruses.

R: Only use your email address or your username when chatting or posting on boards. Never give out personal information to anyone on the web whether it's in boards or chatrooms.

P: Always log-out especially if you're in computer shops because someone might just hack your account and use it for unlawful purposes. Most importantly, do not share your password to anyone!

We should work hand-in-hand to make the internet a safe place where we can share our thoughts to everyone. It's also high time that we educate each other as to how a powerful tool the internet is. Let us share this information to our parents, siblings and friends. Spread the good word around!
